Anna Kendrick’s book will be out in November and she has just revealed the front cover and title on Instagram with the captions:
“I’ll be putting my thoughts in your brain”
“Why would anyone let me do this?”
“Pretty close to mind control” #DrunkwithPower
Kendrick is adding ‘author’ to her list of achievements. The book’s title, Scrappy Little Nobody, hardly reflects on Kendrick as a powerhouse. In her true self-deprecating humour Kendrick says the title describes her well for reasons she gives in her Instagram video.
The book is a collection of funny personal essays. Here’s what her editor at Simon & Schuster, Abigail Bergstrom, had to say about it:
“We are immensely proud to be welcoming Anna Kendrick to our list, joining forces with Touchstone in the US. Anna’s wit, self-deprecation and wry sense of humour will translate brilliantly onto the page. We shall be thoroughly entertained, moved and captivated by her unique take on life and, for S&S across the world, this will be a stunning book for our autumn 2016 list.”
Here’s Kendrick's announcement...
"I’m excited to publish my first book, and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I’d like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude, pettiness, and the frequency with which I embarrass myself. And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well-educated and accomplished comedy writers, I’m very, very funny on Twitter, according to BuzzFeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea. Quick question: are run-on sentences still frowned upon? Wait, is ending a sentence with a preposition still frowned upon? I mean, upon frowned? Dammit!"
So many reasons to look forward to the release of Kendrick's book.
