Holly Seddonís debut novel is a psychological thriller that will grip you from start to finish.

Alex has hit rock bottom. Her husband has left her; she has been fired from her job and is sinking fast into an alcoholic oblivion. The days of her being a talented journalist at The Times are behind her. Instead she is faced with trying to keep her head above water by pitching for freelance jobs.

Her latest project is to write a story on patients who are lost to the outside world. Shut in their isolated world, these patients donít speak or move or communicate. They are cared for in a hospital.

Alex becomes fascinated by one of the patients. Amy and Alex are the same age and grew up in the same part of town. Alex vividly remembers how Amyís abduction played out on the news Ė the viciousness of the attack and Amyís fragile and broken state when she was finally discovered. Amy was 15 at the time and her attacker was never found. She now lies alone in a bed, a few wrinkle lines and one lone grey hair the only giveaway to her age.

As Alex spends more time with Amy, she becomes determined to track down Amyís attacker and see justice done. Alex soon finds herself embroiled in Amyís former life.

If you enjoyed The Girl on the Train then this is the book to kick off your 2016 reading list. Itís over too soon.
